World's Toughest Mudder - Here We Go!!!

Well it's that time of year. The time when the Year in the Mud team collectively looks at each other, sighs and asks, "What in the hell are we doing again?" The time for the World's Toughest Mudder is here, and all joking aside, we couldn't be happier. This is our culminating event, and unlike last year, we are all coming in relatively healthy. Now if we can just stay relatively dry!

We are expecting lots of changes to the race this year. First and foremost, we are in Vegas Baby and the weather is beautiful. I know many in the WTM world are lamenting not being in New Jersey but I don't think I'll ever warm up to 33 degree races.

The Year in the Mud team is slowly trickling in for the race. Tasha and I arrived last night and ran right over to a nearby casino. Brian, or el Gato as he is more commonly referred to these days, arrives tonight and apparently is getting in some last minute training sprinting through the Atlanta airport. That guy is always looking to invent a WOD. The Gazelle arrives on Friday.

Tasha has agreed to join us again this year and will be our support in the Pit and blog our crazy adventures. She became renowned last year with her coverage and still has some of the most read posts on the blog. (And yes - the selfie post continues to be a favorite story around the dinner table.) As the Pit Crew rules have changed, she has agreed to keep pushing us around the course all night long. Well she has at least agreed to keep my muddy body out of the tent so that is something I guess.

Today we spent a little R&R with some site seeing around the great state of Nevada. Year in the Mud was representing at the Hoover Dam today. We even did the Dam Tour!!!

Stay tuned for more live coverage from Las Vegas!
